ABOUT NSS UNIT

The NSS Unit was started in Dr. S.R.K. Govt. Arts. College around 1982-83 academic year. The N.S.S. Unit actively conducted Seminar and Orientation programmes for the volunteers.

Besides regular activities the unit celebrated NSS day, Gandhi Jayanthi and Communal harmony and all the other important days of National Importance for bringing awareness about the importance of all religious and peaceful living

There are 100 N.S.S. volunteers enrolled during this academic year. In addition to regular activities like college campus cleaning, maintenance of adopted village, the volunteers undertook awareness programme on HIV/AIDS, Leprosy, Malaris, Dengue and other communicable diseases. The RED RIBBON CLUB also active in Dr.SRK Govt. Arts College, with the active and timely participation of our NSS volunteers.

 Farampeta – a village, 3 K M away from our college adopted by NSS Unit wherein  the NSS Volunteers will take  door to door campaign for bringing awareness about various diseases and their prevention.

 A special camp being organised at the end of every academic year   for 50 volunteers at Farampeta- an adopted village of N.S.S. Unit of Dr. S.R.K. Govt. Arts. College, Yanam.

Last but not least the NSS volunteers are ready and courageous to take any kind of social activity in the future.
