Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat (EBSB) Club

About Club

Government of India launched the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)' initiative to foster national integration. EBSB programme aims to enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of different states/Union Territories through the concept of state/Union Territory pairing. The states/UTs carry out activities to promote a sustained and structured cultural connect in the areas of language learning, culture, traditions & music, tourism & cuisine, sports and sharing of best practices, etc. As per UGC guidelines All Higher Educational Institutions in the country need to establish EBSB Clubs and ensure conduct of activities in these clubs to promote cultural connect. Hence, Dr. SRK Govt. Arts College, Yanam established EBSB Club in December, 2019.

Objectives

  • To enhance the Unity in Diversity of our Nations and strengthen the cultural bonds between the people of our Country.
  •  To promote the spirit of national integration between the states and union territories.
  •  To promote sustained and structured cultural connect in the areas of language learning, culture, traditions and music, tourism and cuisine, sports etc.
  • To create auspicious environment, this promotes learning between States by sharing best practices and experiences.

Activities 

As per guidelines of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Higher Education, EBSB Cell the following activities are initiated under college EBSB clubs.

  • Making arrangements for mutual Student exchange (50 students) and Teacher exchange (50 teachers) involving 5 days between paired UT.

  • One day in every month will be observed as EBSB day where activities like cultural demonstrations – songs, dance, drama, film shows of paired UT, food festivals, reading of translated books of paired states will be undertaken.
  • Club organizes cultural progammes, cuisine, holding quiz, listening to Radio news, watching TV news from the paired UT.
  • Celebrating Statehood Day of the paired UT.
  • Arrangement of Notice/Display boards where students will put up information/pictures/write-ups  etc about the paired UT.
  • Conducting optional classes to teach language of the paired UT with aim each student must learn at least alphabets, 100 sentences, 5 songs, 20 proverbs in the language of the paired UT.
  • Conducting Essay Writing/Debates/Drama/Quiz/Cultural Progammes based on some aspects preferably in the language of the paired UT.
  • Pledge on Swachhta/Single use plastic/water saving/National Unity in the language of the paired UT.
  • Bringing out Bi-annual Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Newsletter/Report.
  • Organizing Youth Festival with participation of students by various institutes of the UT.
